The Star Mosque, also known as Tara Masjid, is a beautiful mosque located in the Armanitola area of Old Dhaka, Bangladesh. It is a popular tourist destination and an important historical and architectural landmark in the city.

Originally built in the early 19th century by a wealthy merchant named Mirza Golam Pir. It was later renovated in the early 20th century by another merchant named Abdul Gani. It was built in the early 18th century during the Mughal Empire in Bengal. The mosque’s name comes from its stunning decoration of stars on its walls, domes, and arches.

The mosque was originally a small, ordinary structure, but it was renovated and expanded in the early 20th century by a wealthy merchant named Mirza Golam Pir. He covered the mosque’s walls and ceilings with mosaic stars and designed its domes and arches with colored glass. The mosque is famous for its stunning star-shaped motifs on the exterior walls, which are made of imported Chinese tiles. The interior of the mosque is equally beautiful, with intricate designs and patterns on the walls and ceilings.

It has a rectangular prayer hall with three domes, and it can accommodate up to 1,000 worshippers. The mosque’s facade is also adorned with intricate floral and geometric designs. Non-Muslim visitors are allowed to enter the mosque outside of prayer times, but they must dress modestly and remove their shoes before entering.

The Star Mosque is open to visitors of all faiths, but visitors are required to dress modestly and remove their shoes before entering. It is also recommended to visit during non-prayer times to avoid disrupting worshippers.
